The new Apple Watch Series 10 is the thinnest ever Apple Watch and has a bigger display. It also monitors for sleep apnea, offers faster charging, and can sense water depth and water temperature. The Apple Watch 10 doesn’t have a new processor.
The new Apple Watch Series 10 was announced at Apple’s September 2024 event on September 9. It was the only Apple Watch to get an update; we had also expected changes to come to the Apple Watch Ultra and the Apple Watch SE.
The Apple Watch Ultra 2 remains on sale, but is now available in a new color. Apple didn’t mention that anything had changed for the Apple Watch SE, but is available for pre-order, so something may be different.

Here are Apple’s prices for the new Apple Watches:
- Apple Watch Series 10: From $399/£399
These prices are the same as the Apple Watch Series 9 models.
The pricing hasn’t changed for the Apple Watch Ultra 2 or Apple Watch SE 2.
- Apple Watch Ultra 2, from $799/£799
- Apple Watch SE 2 from $249/£219 (was £259 at launch)

Apple Watch Series 10 Design: Do the 2024 Apple Watches look different?

The new Apple Watch Series 10 boasts some design changes from the previous generation.
The new design features more rounded corners, the screen is bigger than ever, and the new Watch is 10 percent thinner than Series 9 at under 10mm thick. In fact, it’s the thinnest Apple Watch ever at 9.7mm.
It also weighs 20% less than the Series 9 did.
The Stainless Steel finish is no more: now if you want a more durable Apple Watch Series 10 you can choose a Titanium finish (a finish introduced with the Apple Watch Ultra).
The Aluminum finish remains for those looking for a cheaper option. A Jet Black, polished aluminium finish is new for series 10. There is also a new Rose Gold finish.
Apple Watch Series 10 Screen: What’s new about the Apple Watch screen?

The new Apple Watch Series 10 screen is larger than the Apple Watch Series 9 screen was. In fact, it is Apple’s biggest ever Apple Watch display – bigger even than the Apple Watch Ultra 2.
It’s also Apple’s first wide-angle OLED display. This new technology should make the display more power-efficient, thus preserving battery life.
The pixels will also emit more light at any angle–which is a benefit since people view their watches from various different angles. The screen has a wider aspect ratio than ever before. Apple says that the watch is 40-percent brighter when viewed from any angle.
This also means that the always-on display can update once a second, not once a minute.
Apple Watch Series 10 Spec: What new tech is inside the Apple Watch Series 10?
Speaker – The speaker system has been re-engineered to be 30 percent smaller, allowing the watch itself to be thinner. The smaller speaker system doesn’t mean that the sound is compromised, on the contrary, media can be played directly through speaker for the first time.
Charging – The watch can also charge faster than ever before. Apple says a larger and more efficient charging coil means that Series 10 is the fastest-charging Apple Watch ever, achieving 50% percent in 30 minutes.
New Apple Watch Health: What new health features does Apple Watch Series 10 have?

Sleep Apnea monitoring is the new 2024 health feature (and it will also be available on Apple Watch 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2).
The Apple Watch will monitor breathing disturbances while the wearer is sleeping. This data will be analyzed after 30 days and the user will be alerted if there is any sign of Sleep Apnea, which, Apple claims, has an 80% undiagnosis rate.
On September 16, 2024, the US. Food and Drug Administration granted approval for the Apple Watch’s Sleep Apnea Notification Feature (SANF).
Apple Watch Series 10 Water features: What new watersports features does Apple Watch Series 10 have?
The Series 10 will have 50m water resistance still, but it gains built-in depth gauge and a water temp sensor.
For snorkeling, it will offer the ability to track time and max depth.
A new Tides app in watchSO 11 will give users data for coastlines all over the world.
